Roles and Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities continue to evolve based on project/learning needs and demands. The team has established a role transition process to capture role-specific tasks, exemplary work products, and lessons learned as they occur. Evolutions in the following table are noted in italics.

  • Keeps track of the big picture, where we are, where we need to be, and what’s missing.
  • Assigns tasks and keeps people on schedule.
  • Maintains project schedule.
  • Anticipates upcoming issues and solutions, all from the perspective of client needs
  • Reviews status reports
  • Facilitates meetings.
Project Coordinator
  • Creates meeting agendas
  • Assists / meets with Project Manager
  • Updates timeline
  • Updates work breakdown structure
Scribe
  • Takes internal Meeting Minutes
  • Formats using Meeting Minutes template
  • Authors Status Reports using Status Report template
  • Provides formatted Meeting Minutes and Status Reports to Quality Assurance Manager for review
  • Records weekly events (such as “attended DAU kick-off meeting”)
Technology Manager

Role is not currently active

  • Navigates the internet for the team as required during meetings
  • Responsible for ensuring all required technology is accessible and prepared for all presentations to professors or client
  • Responsible for facilitating video/audio conferences when needed
  • Helps train other team members on new technologies
Webmaster
  • Manages the ongoing development of the external web site
  • Posts new content in a timely manner, including team meeting minutes, status reports, deliverables, etc.
  • Gives all content a final once-over to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and adherence to style guidelines
  • Performs site design tweaks and troubleshooting as needed
  • Primary contact for web site technical issues
Workspace Manager
  • Responsible for organization, cleanliness and posting of PB Works
  • Responsible for organization and cleanliness of Google Docs
Interdisciplinary Resource

Role is not currently active

  • Prepared to assist any other team member as required
  • Research as needed
Quality Assurance

Role is assigned as needed

  • Responsible for editing, finalizing, and forwarding completed document for posting on client site (Webmaster) and or wiki (Workspace Manager).
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent look and feel to all produced documents (creating and maintaining stylesheet).
  • Identifies terminology consistency and naming standards and makes sure documents comply.
  • Establishes and maintains document layout consistency.
POC Liaison
  • Stands up and represents the group in situations when the “group” isn’t available.
  • Primary contact for client, SMEs, and Instructors.
  • Responsible for obtaining “sign-off” from necessary parties.
  • Ensures that no team member is operating unilaterally.
